Stop to think how you would feel if you lost your goodies and think how you'd feel when someone returned them.





I saw a sign the other day: ';I found your jacket, green men's jacket, call xxxxx';. Actually it wasn't one sign. There were 10 of them on lampposts around where, apparently, this jacket was found, so the owner could not miss it.





Someone went through the trouble of putting up 10 signs to return somebody's property.





What's the lesson in that?


First, it's good for the owner.


Second, it probably makes the finder feel good about himself - and well-deserved.


Third: It's a message to anyone passing by that spot: There are people who find something and don't take it as their own. That message stuck in my mind - as I'm sure it has in others.





I say all of that is worth more than someone's shopping.

Depends on where you find it. If you find it in a more private place like in your apartment building or something, then I would leave it since the owner may come back for it. If it is in a highly public place, say on the street or in public transportation, most likely someone else will take it. But I probably wouldn't take it since I don't know anything about it, so I personally would leave it alone, but I wouldn't look down on anyone who would take it since its pretty much open for the taking...
If there was no way of knowing who it belonged to I'd probably go home and enjoy my new stuff. They shouldn't have left it behind.
If this happens you require to have empathetic understanding. Easy as all you have to do is imagine how you would feel if these were yours and you lost them. However, if you hand these in to Customer Services in a store, police etc insist of a receipt and state you require to know the outcome. I am afraid on lots of occasions someone is honest enough to do this and alas the other party claims the goods for himself/herself. If it is for example found in an apt block then a notice in the lobby or wherever stating you have found a bag, describing same and if anyone has lost this and can tell you what is in it they should contact you at wherever.

Yes, you can get them for free, by simply asking for a sample, but you have to be specific as to which one (s) you want.





Although, a lot the fragrance workers, will spray what your frangrance-request on a card for you to take with you, rather than give an actual vile-sample, (some perfume manufactuers don't give out vile- samples any longer.)








If you are collecting several vile-samples, do it all at once. Tell them all the ones you would like to try. And that you need to wear the fragrance one day each to decide which one you want to purchase later.





The fragrance girls are quick to call people who return more than once asking for viles ';sample hounds';. I know it's an awful thing to say, but it's a common phrase in the make up counters. Kind of humorous.





They are trained to tell repeat vile-samplers ';sorry, we don't have any more samples';, and to push a bottle sale.





They suspect that if they keep giving out vile samples that people will just keep coming back for them and never purchase the actual bottle (which they make their commission off of.) ;)

When you feel your scent has faded take it out and run it along your skin ( at the wrists and behind the elbows is best)





*side note* All perfume fades as time passes. You bodies natural oils break it down. But if you really want the scent to stay then you could try using perfume oil itself(this is the scented oil without the alcohol they use to make it in mass amounts) It does cost more but you use only a drop or two so a bottle lasts a very long time.

Ok here goes:


Get up (for work), quick shower, i use deoderant after (of course) and spray it about 15cm away from armpit (as directed). Then, I Get my clothes on and pick up the perfume bottle (Duh) and spray it just infron of me and walk through it. (I Find it stay on most of the day by doing it like that and it isnt too strong.)





I Shower and then I Use deoderant every morning, take a small body spray with me in my bag for the day, (and i use perfume once a day, but i use alot!), and then i shower at night and use deoderant then.
Wear both.....I put deoderant on in the morning after my shower and go to work with perfume...arrive in evening and change and put on deoderant, take shower and then put on deoderant again..Anytime I change or shower I put on deoderant.......

When you find a perfume you like that smells amazing in the bottle you need to also place some on your wrists and chest/ torso area. If it mixes well with your pheromones it should smell just as great or even better then it did in the bottle when the day is over, but if it doesn't mix well then, what usually happens is by the end of the day it will smell not so good/ horrible/ like fish. So basically, try (it out for a day, 24 hours, at least) before you by!

I am with you on this one. I cannot stand when either men or women wear too much cologne or perfume. Ughhh! If it is your apartment you can politely tell her that while her perfume is lovely, she is wearing too much. I would say the same if my hubby puts too much on, ';Sweetie you put on too much cologne again.'; Thankfully it usually it not as strong in an hour or two. I can put up with it for at least that little bit of time.

Oh yes. I've had both men's colognes and natural scents draw me to them more than I would have been otherwise, and vice versa. I went through a period where I enjoyed wearing men's colognes that I liked when I went out. Guess what? Women at the bar told me how great I smelled and I realized with amusement that they were much friendlier, and touchy-feely with me then they were when I wore perfume. I'm straight, but it was interesting as I truly don't believe they realized they were doing it.

Hmm, no the green bottle is a newer version. It's fresher and I think it's a splash and not a spray. You probably want the original. Anything with a spray is sealed and will last longer. Believe me, you will not want it if it's a splash on perfume.

How can I refinish a SPOT on a Bruce Hardwood Floor that perfume had eaten through the polyurathane?

A small bottle of perfume had exploded on the floor and was left unattended for some time. Therefore, after I cleaned up as much as possible, the alcohol ate throught the polyurathane finish on the floor and bare wood. It's about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide. Sand with fine grit sandpaper. Wipe with tack cloth, making sure the area is completely free of dust.


Using a sponge brush apply some Varathane. Purchase at Wal-Mart or Home Dept. Let dry. Lightly sand between coats.

Since Bruce Hardwood is engineered wood, I would contact the company and ask what is the best procedure. I'm sure they will be able to answer your questions. Their answer will not be speculation.

You may be looking just to refinish the floor, but did the color fade? Will refinishing match the color?





You can just put on a few coats of polyurethane, but it will be noticeable (easily upon close examination). If you put on several very light coats and ';sand'; with OOOO steel wool and then use tack cloth between coats, you should be able to achieve some degree of matching, that will not be readily noticeable.





CAUTION - depending on the type of polyurethane coating that is on the floor it may be difficult to match. Oil based Polyurethanes tend to yellow to a great degree upon drying. Water based Polyurethanes tend to dry clear.





So keep in mind the color of your floor. Most wood floors are stained and then polyurethaned. Also keep in mind that the finish of the floor may be satin (a semi-gloss) or glossy. Most floors will have a glossy finish because it is a harder finish.





If I was doing the project I would stain to match and use a water based polyurethane on top of the stain. The other benefit to water based (not the price, it is more expensive than oil) is that it doesn't smell as bad and dries much faster. But it is not as durable as oil based and is generally not recommended for floors.

The glue is probably nontoxic in that an occaisional rubbing won't cause severe rashes in otherwise healthy individuals but I would not be surprised if they have some noxious stuff that you should not use on say a daily basis. i dont know of any long lasting perfumes, but you can try layering the scent. most perfumes have matching lotions, creams, shower gels, etc. i.e., you could use the shower gel, then put on the lotion when you get out of the shower, then put the perfume on. bath and body works has a perfume for almost all of their scents, and every scent has a TON of different forms (body scrubs, shimmer lotion, body butter, etc.), so you could go there to get a perfume to layerHow do i make fragrances/perfume stay on me longer?

I have heard when you spray it on don't rub it. That breaks the molecule. Put on BEFORE you get dressed so it is on skin, not clothes. You have to test them bc they smell different on eveybody bc of chemistry.

In Eau de Toilette the Fragrance has more water in it resulting in a lighter smell of the fragrance. The Eau de Perfum has more of the fragrance and less water, making the smell stronger and last longer.

If you have long hair, apply your perfume to the back of your neck. When you are sitting next to someone your hair will keep the scent somewhat hidden. When you are moving the air will blow through your hair and people should be able to smell you.





It goes without saying that too much of anything is not a good thing. Depending on what perfume you are wearing, apply sparingly.





For example, if I was a lady I wouldn't apply the same amount of Dolce %26amp; Gabbana Light Blue as if I was wearing, say, a Escada perfume. One is much stronger than the other. Hope this helps :)

Lotion...and layering...example, when you take a shower, use body wash in whatever scent you choose (Victoria Secret has really nice smelling fragrances that are soft and nice smelling), then apply lotion in the same scent, you can carry a little bottle of it with you if you need, or buy the body spray for a quick pick me up!

Just man or woman up and tell her. Why beat around the bush? They will respect you more if you just tell them to their face.
Not the only one, lots are sensitive to that and some towns like in California have even outlawed perfumes and stuff! But all you can do is just tell them about it, and let the chips fall where they may. It is not an unreasonable request I don't think
take a dump in your office garbage can when shes not looking, that'll mask any perfume!

Yeah, of course! But ask for it when you're buying something because they're not so nice if you just go for the samples, so to speak. Also, you can try like any perfume out in the store! Have one of the associates to help you choose a perfume and then just ask fro a sample!





Also, Sephora has a very good return policy... they stake used items back. I bought this face wash from there once for like 28 bucks and I didn't like it (after using it once or twice) so I brought it back for a full refund!

My employer does. And it goes company wide, all offices. Not just the one I work at. Basically, it says no perfume or cologne allowed. And it's exactly for this reason.
My company has a no perfume policy and I'm very happy that it does. If I come in contact with anyone, male or female, who is wearing so much perfume/cologne that you can still smell they were there 10 minutes later then I start to develop sinus headaches from it. As a child I was allergic to perfume, I couldn't wear it and now I can only wear the lightest of scents. I don't need a nasal assault because someone else decides they want to take a bath in the stuff.

Yes, I think there should be something set in place for that. Some women wear way too much perfume and whether they believe it or not, it's nauseating. It's not fair to other co-workers when they cannot work.
I believe that in my company policy there is a rule about wearing minimal perfume.
If someone was allergic, then I think it should be brought to the attention of their manager. But it's not something most companies would feel the need to 'regulate.' After all, in most companies now days you aren't forced to relate as when all people stand in a row in a factory or something. (But in food service, Facility Policies most likely address that.)

I think that it has a lot to do with how products and your skin react. I know that scents really tend to stick to my body, skin and hair. And the last time that I picked up a new scent deodorant, my boyfriend kept asking me what that good smell was until I announced it was coming from under my arms... I guess it's good to know I don't stink, right?





But my favorite body wash is by Softsoap (less than $5USD) and it's Pomegranate and Mango. It smells terrific and does stick to my skin. Sadly I have never come across a body wash that lasts after your out of the shower. I don't think that there meant to either. It's just a wash for men that lasts because they tend to start smelling faster during the day than we do. Those are deoderant body washes like old spice, axe etc.

Not always... it will often say online and in store sale. They sell out faster in stores, so the sales change more often. The ones you mentioned are usually on sale after Christmas, so check the store right now... before it sells out.

It really depends on what you wear. Perfume is a raw, very pungent liquid, and today, most people only get a fraction of a perfum in an ';eau de toilette'; which is a diluted perfume.





If you have an eau de toilette, one spray is good enough to cast a scent. And remember, people who aren't used to smelling your scent will get it stronger.
Just ask a family member or roomate after putting on diff amounts to find the right amount.. My family can smell perfume a MILE away though, it's so annoying! They complain about the smell of hand lotion, it's so ridiculous.

Yes, they are Macy's employees who work in the perfume department. On occasion, there will be vendors from specific perfume companies who will pass out samples and greet customers. You can tell if they are Vendors when they have stickers on that say ';visitor.';

well, perfumes THEMSELVES dont have the list ON them, but if its not in the little box somewhere on the side, then you should always ask the person who's selling them how many millimeters it is, and how much it weighs. Good luck! :))

You always could not spray the perfume directly onto you're skin... Just spray it up in the air or in front of you, and walk into it... Works like a charm! Plus, the scent is greatly lessened. Good Luck! =]

Were you actually arrested? If this is your first offense, you will probably get probation, which should be preferable to going to jail.





I believe that you may just get a big bill from the store also. There's some kind of law that allows stores to pursue civil actions against shoplifters.





Frankly, it doesn't sound like you're very remorseful. The judge may just decide you need lots and lots of community service to adjust your thinking. You will probably be wearing an orange vest an picking up trash along the roads.

I can't say what they will do, but that's a felony crime and you ';can'; be sentenced to 1 year in county jail for this crime.
